More than 11 million people have now been forced from their homes. More than 650,000

are still trapped in besieged areas. Millions need food, water, shelters and medical care.

The estimated death toll since 2011 is at over 450,000 people, the number is rising by the

day.Women and children are most affected by this conflict; many have lost access to

healthcare and are living in unsanitary conditions where the risk of disease is high.  They are

suffering, struggling for food facing death, trauma, and deprived of basic humanitarian aid.

Education has been disrupted and in some areas stopped, as some schools have either

been damaged, destroyed by the fighting or become temporary shelters for displaced

people.
